A downloadable fan translation

This is a fan translation of the free game Nobody Can Kill Them, located at https://novelgame.jp/games/show/4544 . The Game is made by Lee Blackheimer.

Premise:

The seemingly nonexistent Kingdom of Atlantis has declared war on the world.

The highly advanced country begins to invade the surface world with its incredible military might. With most weaponry proving useless, the nations on the surface are attempting to use magic to hold Atlantis back.

What will be the fate of the hero "Nobody", captured by Atlantis, and forced to fight his friends before the war began?

Some content warnings, just in case:

  • There's a scene where someone visibly gets stabbed in the eye.
  • Suicide
  • Violence, though aside from the scene mentioned above, it is only described in text.

The game will take around 1 hour for the first clear, 2 hours for full route + bonus content clear. There are 4 routes in total, though there are also 3 game overs that the game doesn't count as endings. Upon clearing all routes, the bonus content is unlocked, which can be accessed via a yellow button in the main menu.

There are a few small parts that are intentionally written in Japanese for plot reasons. These parts were English in the stock game, so I wrote it in Japanese instead.

I might do the ghost one, but probably not the hokoro one for a while. I looked at what it has, and Hokoro has a ton of images and its overall super short.

I'm currently thinking of translating all the VNs made by this guy and putting their patches in one page: https://novelgame.jp/users/profile/17239

There's also a few sci-fi ones I'm thinking of translating, though I found a good chunk of the VNs there use app.asar for resources. I don't really want to distribute a repackagaed app.asar myself since the creators would get really mad, so I might demand the user use a special node.js utility to get their game patched.

You could always use xdelta.

Haven't heard of that one - I'll definitely look into that.

I've also found a 7zip plugin that looks like it can open asar files like a zip.

I'll have to think about which one is better for the user - looks like each option would have a different distribution method.

you can still create a tpatch for app.asar. LACKGIRL uses tyrano and app.asar and I was able to make mod for the game to increase the textbox opacity using a tpatch that modifies the app.asar when booting up the game. I imagine it would work the same way?
