This is a world where the Spiraea Virus - a virus that causes delusions and hallucinations - has become prevalent. The protagonist, Louis Genzaki, has unfortunately contracted Spiraea, and has started to experience delusions. His little sister, Monet, is taking him to a mental institution known as Kamikawa Sanatorium...

Some other information about this VN:

  • It takes around three hours to fully complete.
  • There is some depiction of gory scenes and attempted suicide, so be aware of that.
  • The first three choices you get don't affect the endings you get. The others either continue the story, lead to an ending fairly quickly, or ask you to choose again.
  • There are 6 endings: FALSE, BAD 1, BAD 2, BEST, CRAZY, and TRUTH. CRAZY and TRUTH can only be accessed after viewing BEST.
  • The VN explains a lot of its mysteries, but it leaves some for you to figure out yourself.

Install instructions

This is a TyranoBuilder VN that uses app.asar, so you need xDelta to apply the patch.

  1. The most hassle-free way to get xDelta is to grab it for free here, and use xdeltaUI: https://www.romhacking.net/utilities/598/
  2. Acquire a copy of the VN from one of these locations:
    1. https://freegame-mugen.jp/adventure/game_11415.html
    2. https://novelgame.jp/games/show/8482
  3. Download a patch from here that matches the place you downloaded from. If you downloaded from freegame-mugen, use the zanatoriumFreegame.xdelta patch. Otherwise, if you downloaded from novelgame, use the zanatoriumNovelgame.xdelta patch.
  4. Extract the VN from the zip, and then enter the resources folder.
  5. Inside resources is app.asar. Keep in mind that you'll need to use this original app.asar file as the original file if there are any updates.
    1. Launch xDelta, and set this app.asar as the original file. 
    2. Set the xDelta patch as the patch to use. 
    3. Set the output as something else, such as app.asar.out. 
    4. Remove the existing app.asar file, and rename app.asar.out as app.asar.
    5. Double check that the new app.asar file is located in the resources folder.
  6. Play.
