A downloadable fan translation

This is a translation for the paid version of Dice Psycho. You can grab a copy from Steam here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1909880/_/

Parts of the free version translation might work, but trying to copy paste it in is going to missing some features.

Dice Psycho is long compared to most Charon VNs. Each route takes about 1H to 1H30M to fully clear, and there's 7 of them (6 Main + 1 True), resulting in about 7H to 10H30M in total. There's a whopping 28 BAD ENDs, 6 HAPPY ENDs, 6 IF ENDs, and 1 ANOTHER END.

This is the premise, translated from the Steam page:

  • "All heroines are psychopaths!"
  • Can you evade the dangerous and psychotic girls who will try to harm you if they get the chance?
  • This is a yandere horror game where the protagonist can fall in love with crazy girls.
  • This is the fully voiced version of the free Dice Psycho; new story has been added.

New stuff I've seen thus far, compared to the free version:

  1. Route stories are unchanged, down to the very text (in Japanese) and visuals. However, everyone who isn't the MC gets voice acting now. There's also 5 second videos that play when you reach an ending.
  2. I've reviewed the translation of the free version, and compared it with my own. While the text would be identical if you read Japanese, my translation's text is different, yet mostly identical in function to the free VN translation. There's a few small things I think the free version's translator missed.
  3. The new story the creator is referring to appears to be a short section unlocked after clearing the VN's True End, where the girls from Menherafflesia and this VN hang out for a bit.
  4. I've edited the girls' names to be homophones of Saiko, instead of all of them being named Saiko. The creator originally wrote their names as homophones, so I wanted to bring that to the English language too. One of them will still keep the original Saiko name, though.
  5. I have also added in a completely new feature, exclusive to this translation at this time of writing - you can now actually roll the die if you want. If you want a specific route, you can choose the outcome on the left, or you can set possible results (all six are possible by default) and do a random roll on the right.

Right now, I've got all the text translated, except for some of the videos.

Install instructions

Place saicosh.tpatch next to your saicosh.exe executable, and play.

You may need to start a new game if you update and the names look weird. Your system data should still be fine regardless.

Cant translate Dice Psycho but i can translate Traumermaid, idk why, im doing the same thing, placing the corresponding tpatch in an empty part of the game file.

Really? Assuming nothing changed, the name of the tpatch file should match the prefix of the sav files that appear when you launch the game (the "saicosh" part). Otherwise the thing gets confused and doesn't read the patch.

Fixed it, thanks

edit: fixed it for 1 of the steam versions fully, the other one is half fixed  (menu is in japanese, dialogue is in english, and it doesnt say what character is speaking in the text box)

do I just put the file in the game folder to get it to work? also how do i know if it works?

You put the patch file right inside the folder that has the exe in it. TyranoBuilder has a function that replaces its contents with a tpatch file, which is how it functions. You should know it works if you encounter English text after starting up a new game.

thank you very much, and also thank you for your work translating games, its great! <

Does this work with the version thats on DLsite???

I believe it should, yeah. The tpatch stuff uses a replacer function internally, so I don't forsee issues. If it does break let me know.

Will you return to translating games?

Probably. I accidently got burned out for a few months. Also got real life stuff to deal with.

I'm probably going to hold off on this particular one for a bit. I've looked around on NovelGames for the past months looking for neat VNs, and found a few. There's one I've actually finished the first pass on (Nobody Can Kill Them), though I haven't had the time to do an editing pass yet.

I've got the first module of Depersonalization done, though I'm waiting on putting it up on the Steam Workshop. Devs claim they're going to do an update on the 5th, so much of my focus will be set on that when the update arrives.

Great work!

Thank you

here! the hero we all have been waiting for....
